Kiehl Frazier gets named starter at Quarterback

Well, it’s now official! Kiehl has been publicly named the starter, although I think the coaches decided on this a long time ago, seeing as though he was mainly getting first team reps.

I think the coaches were sandbagging a little with the quarterbacks. Frazier turned quite a few heads in the spring and summer and has made some steady progress. I still feel as though we are grooming him to become a game-manager early on. Giving him confidence with some easy throws and a run game is crucial for him and the team. You can’t throw him in the deep end early on, seeing as though he’s a true sophomore in a brand new offence.

Unless of course he is much better than coaches lead on, which we’ll find out pretty soon. But in an offence that is designed to take a little more time off the clock and is less aggressive, the run game will be relied on.

Regardless, it’s great to get this out of the way since the bellyaching amongst fans can now stop. Let’s press on and get ready for the season.

About Ross Collings

It's the orange and blue I love. Big fan of the Auburn football program and university. Consider myself the biggest fan of them currently living and being from outside of the United States.
